Senior Manager / Lead – Transaction &amp; Commercial Analytics

About the Role
We are looking for a high-impact Transaction &amp; Commercial Analytics professional to own the intelligence layer behind a high-volume, transaction-driven digital commerce platform.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that transaction performance, payment flows, pricing, margins, catalog data, settlement, revenue assurance, and commercial health remain accurate, efficient, and continuously optimized.
This is not a reporting, MIS, or dashboard-focused role. You will work closely with Product, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership to identify issues before they impact customers or revenue, uncover hidden business opportunities, and convert data-driven insights into measurable business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially minded, curious by nature, and comfortable investigating complex business problems across millions of transaction records.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transaction Intelligence &amp; Analytics
<ul>

Develop a deep understanding of end-to-end transaction lifecycles across APIs, e-commerce orders, digital products, rewards/redemptions, payment gateways, refunds, cancellations, settlements, and vendor fulfilment.
</li>
<li>
Analyze transaction performance to identify failure points, operational bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and customer-impacting issues.
</li>
<li>
Investigate transaction failures and determine root causes across product, technology, payment, vendor, and operational workflows.
</li>
<li>
Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.
</li>
<li>
Track transaction health and ensure issues are permanently resolved rather than repeatedly monitored.
</li>
</ul>
2. Commerce &amp; Payment Analytics
<ul>
<li>
Monitor transaction success rates, payment failures, conversion metrics, and transaction performance across vendors, merchants, categories, geographies, currencies, payment methods, and partners.
</li>
<li>
Identify patterns, anomalies, and trends that impact customer experience, revenue, and profitability.
</li>
<li>
Analyze payment gateway performance and identify opportunities to improve transaction success rates.
</li>
<li>
Build actionable insights that enable Product and business teams to improve commercial and operational performance.
</li>
</ul>
3. Pricing, Margin &amp; Profitability Intelligence
<ul>
<li>
Own analytics around pricing, merchant margins, discounts, commissions, and profitability across the product/catalog ecosystem.
</li>
<li>
Identify pricing inconsistencies, discount leakage, margin erosion, FX impact, and other commercial inefficiencies.
</li>
<li>
Analyze pricing and sourcing data to identify opportunities for margin improvement.
</li>
<li>
Partner with Finance, Product, and business teams to recommend pricing and commercial optimization strategies.
</li>
<li>
Track the financial impact of pricing and commercial decisions.
</li>
</ul>
4. Revenue Assurance &amp; Leakage Detection
<ul>

Identify and investigate revenue leakage caused by:

Track identified issues through closure and validate that corrective actions deliver measurable outcomes.

5. Catalog &amp; Merchant Intelligence
<ul>
<li>
Monitor the commercial health and accuracy of large-scale product and merchant catalogs.
</li>
<li>
Identify incorrect pricing, duplicate SKUs, invalid denominations, expired products, tax inconsistencies, currency mismatches, and other catalog-related issues.
</li>
<li>
Identify merchant onboarding and configuration gaps that may impact revenue, customer experience, or transaction success.
</li>
<li>
Develop automated validations and controls to proactively identify catalog and merchant issues.
</li>
</ul>
6. Business Controls &amp; Anomaly Detection
<ul>
<li>
Build data-driven controls and validation frameworks across critical transaction and commerce journeys.
</li>
<li>
Proactively identify anomalies, fraud indicators, margin erosion, vendor issues, payment problems, and customer-impacting defects.
</li>
<li>
Develop monitoring mechanisms for critical business and transaction health metrics.
</li>
<li>
Establish thresholds, alerts, and exception-based monitoring to reduce dependency on manual analysis.
</li>
<li>
Continuously improve business controls based on emerging patterns and operational learnings.
</li>
</ul>
7. AI-Driven Analytics &amp; Automation
<ul>
<li>
Leverage modern AI tools to identify anomalies, uncover hidden trends, automate repetitive analysis, and accelerate investigations.
</li>
<li>
Explore AI-assisted approaches to improve data analysis, root-cause identification, monitoring, and business intelligence.
</li>
<li>
Build scalable analytical and monitoring solutions that can proactively surface business and transaction issues.
</li>
<li>
Use AI and automation to reduce manual effort and improve the speed and accuracy of decision-making.
</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications &amp; Skills
<ul>

4–10 years of relevant experience in FinTech, Payments, E-commerce, Marketplace, Digital Commerce, or other high-volume transaction-driven businesses.
</li>
<li>
Strong understanding of transaction-heavy platforms, payment ecosystems, commercial operations, and business processes.
</li>
<li>
Hands-on experience working with large-scale transaction datasets and complex business data.
</li>
<li>
Strong proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel.
</li>
<li>
Experience with Business Intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.
</li>
<li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to investigate ambiguous business problems.
</li>
<li>
Ability to translate data and analytical findings into product, operational, financial, and commercial actions.
</li>
<li>
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with Product, Finance, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.

<li>
Strong understanding of metrics, KPIs, business controls, data validation, and performance monitoring.

Python experience is a plus.
