Role Title: Senior FreeCAD Engineer
Role Type: Contractor
Location: Remote
Engaging Senior FreeCAD Engineers to contribute expertise to a dynamic customer project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
Scope of Work
<ul>
<li>Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to specified project requirements.</li>
<li>Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, leveraging best practices in assembly design and component integration.</li>
<li>Apply rigorous Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&amp;T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability and quality.</li>
<li>Generate clear, precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.</li>
<li>Conduct thorough engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings to identify, communicate, and help resolve issues.</li>
<li>Utilize Python scripting for CAD automation tasks, streamlining repetitive or complex modeling operations (highly preferred, not mandatory).</li>
<li>Collaborate by providing insightful feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or industrial engineering or any other related field with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&amp;T and DFM best practices.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.</li>
<li>Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying model integrity and compliance with specifications.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills relevant to remote, project-based collaboration.</li>
