  <h1>Practice Manager (Bookkeeping Firm)</h1>
  <p><em>(Canadian/US Accounting)</em></p>

  <p>Transcounts is a fast-growing accounting firm based in Langley, BC. We specialize in outsourced bookkeeping, fractional Controller/CFO services, payroll, and tax support for small and mid-sized businesses across Canada and the USA.</p>

  <p><strong>Location:</strong> Langley, BC (200 St / 56 Ave). Hybrid: 1 day per week WFH allowed after probation; 2 days per week WFH after 1 year.</p>

  <h2>Role Overview</h2>
  <p>The Practice Manager will lead delivery for a portfolio of 30–50 small bookkeeping clients, ensuring accurate financial operations, timely reporting, and an outstanding client experience.</p>

  <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>

  <h3>Delivery &amp; Quality</h3>
  <ul>
    <li>Ensure accurate and timely monthly bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, sales tax filings, and year-end preparation.</li>
    <li>Own the client experience end-to-end, strengthening communication and trust.</li>
  </ul>

  <h3>Team Collaboration</h3>
  <ul>
    <li>Lead quality oversight across your client portfolio.</li>
    <li>Hold bookkeepers and reviewers accountable to SOPs and Quality Checklists.</li>
  </ul>

  <h3>Customer Experience</h3>
  <ul>
    <li>Improve documentation flow, banking access, and communication channels.</li>
    <li>Represent clients confidently in CRA/IRS reviews and handle non-audit escalations.</li>
  </ul>

  <h3>Onboarding</h3>
  <ul>
    <li>Own onboarding for assigned clients, with support as needed, and ensure the tech stack is configured correctly from day one.</li>
  </ul>

  <h3>Internal Rhythm</h3>
  <ul>
    <li>Record client meetings (unless the client declines) and save meeting notes in ClickUp for team visibility.</li>
    <li>Provide daily/weekly asynchronous updates with bookkeepers and reviewers.</li>
  </ul>

  <h2>Path to Fractional Controller/CFO</h2>
  <p>You may progress into Controller/CFO responsibilities after demonstrating:</p>
  <ul>
    <li>Management of 50+ monthly clients and a team of 10+ members.</li>
    <li>Strong technical mastery and consistently excellent delivery.</li>
  </ul>

  <h2>Must-haves (deal breakers)</h2>
  <ol>
    <li>Ability to work hybrid/on-site in Langley, BC (200 St / 56 Ave).</li>
    <li>CPA or equivalent qualification.</li>
    <li>CRA Represent a Client (Rep) account and ability to handle CRA/IRS reviews independently.</li>
    <li>Minimum 2 years working in public practice (preferably fractional CFO/Controller, Big 4, or similar competitors).</li>
    <li>Resident in Canada for at least the past 1 year.</li>
    <li>2+ years of QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Xero experience.</li>
    <li>1+ year of Canada/USA payroll experience and compliance knowledge (GST/sales tax, WCB, EHT, nexus).</li>
    <li>Proven team management experience, including career progression of direct reports and managing teams of 3+ full-time members.</li>
    <li>Experience owning month-end close and producing visual management reports for 10+ entities.</li>
    <li>Experience with ecommerce (Amazon, Shopify, A2X), inventory, COGS, and multi-channel operations — strongly preferred.</li>
  </ol>

  <h2>Interview Process</h2>
  <ul>
    <li>20-minute phone screening with HR.</li>
    <li>30-minute virtual interview with Anmol Singh, Director of Operations.</li>
    <li>Final interview with Aman Mittal, CEO &amp; Founder (onsite in Langley, BC).</li>
    <li>Background reference check and offer.</li>
  </ul>

  <h2>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h2>
  <p><strong>Salary:</strong> CAD 60,000 to 80,000</p>
  <ul>
    <li>2 weeks of vacation.</li>
    <li>5 sick/personal days.</li>
