Location: Woodbury, NY (Long Island) Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Schedule: Hybrid Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 + Bonus
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Secretary to support attorneys specializing in family and business law. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys being a key part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and memoranda</li>
<li>Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records</li>
<li>Conduct legal research and compile materials for case preparation</li>
<li>Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments</li>
<li>Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and external parties</li>
<li>Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently</li>
<li>Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and photocopying</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>3–10 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role</li>
<li>Experience in family law and/or business law strongly preferred</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and NYSCEF (New York State Courts Electronic Filing System)</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset</li>
<li>High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information</li>
