Brief Job Description:
Support the product design and development team in 3D modelling, engineering drawings, prototyping, testing, and design improvements. Assist in developing&nbsp; mechanical components and assemblies, preparing BOMs and technical documentation, and coordinating with manufacturing, QC, electrical, and V&amp;V teams. The intern will gain practical exposure to CAD tools, DFM/DFA, mechanical design, testing, and product development processes.
Job Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Assist in 3D CAD modelling and product design using tools such as SolidWorks, Solid edge, Creo, or Fusion 360.</li>
<li>Support the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and product prototypes.</li>
<li>Prepare and update 2D manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.</li>
<li>Assist senior engineers in design calculations, component selection, and basic engineering analysis.</li>
<li>Support prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and design validation.</li>
<li>Identify design issues and suggest design improvements for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost reduction.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Production, QC, and V&amp;V teams during product development.</li>
<li>Support testing and verification activities and document test results.</li>
<li>Maintain proper version control and revision history of design files and documents.</li>
<li>Learn and apply GD&amp;T, material selection, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles.</li>
<li>Support other product development activities assigned by the Product Design/Mechanical Engineering team.</li>

Skills required:

<li>3D CAD Modelling: SolidWorks,Solid edge, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent</li>
<li>2D Engineering Drawings and basic GD&amp;T</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, and 3D printing</li>
<li>Basic engineering calculations and tolerance analysis</li>
<li>Prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting</li>
<li>Basic understanding of materials and component selection</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of FEA/simulation tools is an advantage</li>
<li>Problem-solving and analytical skills</li>
<li>Good communication and teamwork</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and adapt to new design tools and technologies.</li>

Basic qualification: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.</li>
</ul>
Additional qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modelling and assembly design through academic or personal projects.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of DFM/DFA, GD&amp;T, and tolerance analysis.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.</li>
<li>Experience working with engineering change documentation and revision control is preferred.</li>
