Bynry

About Bynry

Bynry builds SMART360, a cloud native SaaS platform purpose built for small and mid sized Water, Electric, Gas, and Sub Metering utilities across North America. We help them modernize billing, meter management, and customer operations fast and affordably. By 2030, our goal is to equip 1,000 utilities and impact 10 million households with modern, connected infrastructure technology.

Why This Role Exists

RFP is one of our highest leverage engines. Right now we win close to 2 out of every 100 shortlisted RFPs. The goal is 1 in 2. Same pipeline, several times the revenue when that rate moves. This role owns that number.

Pre sales is everything that happens before a contract. Read the opportunity, score it for fit, shape the solution answer, and get us onto the shortlist. RFP response is the core of it, not a separate job. This is a solutioning seat, not a form filling one.

How We Work, AI First

This role runs AI first from day one. Claude is the default way the RFP work gets done here. You fit score the opportunity, assemble the response using our compliance matrix and approved proof points, verify it with the solution team, and submit. The practical interview is run on these tools, so comfort working alongside AI is part of what we are hiring for, not something you pick up after joining.

What You'll Own

Every formal RFP we answer, from fit score through to submission.

The early fit and setup questions that land before a sale.

Getting us onto the shortlist. That is the number, not how many we send.

Working with the solution team so the technical answers are right.

What You'll Do Day to Day

Find the RFPs worth answering. Score around 150 a quarter for fit, so we only chase the ones we can win.

Submit nine in ten of the ones you pick. Skip the weak fits rather than pad the count.

Get us onto half the shortlists you submit.

Work toward winning half of those shortlists.

Assemble each response AI first, using approved proof points only, with no invented numbers.

Loop in the solution team on every technical answer before submission.

Write every answer for the utility evaluator, not for us.

Report every Monday, result first, counted not guessed.

What You Need to Bring

This is a less experienced seat. We screen for aptitude, not years. Skills are built here.

Must have

Ownership. You can look at an opportunity and make a clear go or no go call, with your reasoning written down, without waiting to be told.

AI first working. You already reach for an AI tool to draft and structure real work, and you can show one thing you built that way.

Clear writing. You can write a short answer that reads for the person evaluating it.

Learning agility. You pick up a new domain fast.

Not required

Utility RFP experience. This is taught here.

Years in North American sales or procurement.

Prior familiarity with our RFP tools. You are onboarded onto these.

What Success Looks Like

50 percent win rate on shortlisted RFPs, up from around 2 percent. This is the single outcome this seat owns.

Around 150 RFPs fit scored a quarter, only the right fit ones chased.

Nine in ten of the picked RFPs submitted.

Half of submissions reaching the shortlist.

Every response assembled AI first, with provable claims only.
