ACT Grants

The ACT Fellowship is a full-time programme for early to mid-career professionals who want to learn what it takes to bring an investor's lens to philanthropy, backing founders building innovative solutions for India's most pressing challenges.
You will work alongside the ACT team, scouting for high-potential founders, conducting due diligence behind grant-making decisions, and supporting our portfolio of grantees. Think of it as an apprenticeship: you learn by doing, working on real problems alongside the team from day one.
ACT is a venture philanthropy fund that deploys flexible, risk-tolerant capital to innovation-first organisations solving systemic challenges across thematic areas, with a focus on health, education and environment. Fellows join at a moment of real institutional ambition and their work directly shapes how we source, evaluate, and support the organisations we back.
What you will work on
Fellows work within the ACT team and contribute across the full grant-making lifecycle: sector research and investment scouting, due diligence and investment committee preparation, and hands-on portfolio support. The work is substantive from day one.
Programme details
The 2026-27 cohort will take in four Fellows for a nine-month engagement, with the possibility of extension up to two years. Fellows work full-time with the ACT team, based in Bangalore or Mumbai. We offer a monthly stipend of INR 90,000 and an experience letter on completing the programme.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for people who are intellectually rigorous, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and motivated by both the craft of investing and the scale of impact that patient, risk-tolerant capital can unlock. Prior experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, impact investing, early-stage startups, or the social sector is an advantage, though we welcome applications from across professional backgrounds.
Minimum eligibility: Indian resident citizen, graduate of an accredited university, at least one year of full-time work experience, and based in or willing to relocate to Bangalore or Mumbai for the duration of the programme. We do not offer relocation sponsorship.
